Sam's Soccer World

Welcome!

I promised Samantha that I would create a few pages dedicated to her sport, soccer and her academics. Samantha began her soccer career at the ripe age of 4 at the YMCA, St. Dennis, and Valley View Baptist Church. When she hit 7 years old she joined the Mockingbird Valley Soccer club  playing in their indoor soccer program. Eventually, when the U9 select tryouts came up, she was accepted to play with Mockingbird's competitive soccer league. Now, at age 10, she is still playing for the Mockingbird U11 team and loves every minute of it. Her favorite college team is the University of Louisville Cardinals (of course, she takes after dad) and her favorite players are Kristine Lily and Mia Hamm (she got to meet Krisitine Lilly and Kate Markgraf at a season opening dinner for the UofL girls soccer team). Everything about Sam's Soccer World can be found among these pages.

What's New?

Awsome Job in State Cup to the Semi-Finals!
The girls eased through Owensboro, being slowed a bit only by E-Town through the whole weekend. All games were won handily by a wide margin, with E-town being a 2-0 victory. In the semi-finals, the girls "lost" to Lexington and went home knowing they were the better team that day.

Big Win in Noblesville, In. Spring 2007
Our first game in the White River Classic when smoothly, with an easy 2-0 victory (against the Rowdies) for the girls who made very few mistakes. The second game, however, ended in a 1-2 loss against the Red Devils. Game 3, was a turn around for an 8-0 win against a Chicago team pushing us into the Championship game to avenge the loss against the Red Devils. This game, the girls came together for a dominant 2-0 win for the Championship. Melissa was a key player, shutting down the Devils number one go to girl and shutting them out.

September 30 & October 1, 2006-Another Championship under our belt! This time, it was our own Mockingbird invitational against a split of U11 and U12 teams. Most of these games were close with the final results:
Mockingbird96 White (2) vs. Zionsville Eagles95 White (0)
Mickingbird96 White (5) vs. Javanon96 Red (1)
Mockingbird96 White (1) vs. Dynamo95 Black (1)
In the end, the deciding Championship game was against the U12 Dynamo Black team (once again) for a tie breaking game and a 2-1 Mockingbird victory.

September9&10, 2006- On a roadtrip to Memphis for the SoccerElite Grrrl's Fall Championship tourny our Mockingbird team dominated the whole weekend and took home the Championship. In their first game, the girls beat Memphis Futbol by a huge 6 to nothing margin. The second game for Saturday, against the Arkansas Blitz, was another shutout with a 3 to 0 result. Sunday's first game saw a reapeat of the previous day's action with an opening victory and an 8-0 shutout against Mcatee TN's Purple Rain. The only score our girls allowed was in the final Championship game against the Jackson, MO United team which ended with a Mockingbird 5-1 victory. All in all it was a fantastic weekdn and the girls played incredibly.

September 6, 2005- MVSC U10 Girls are the Champs
On Sept. 5th and 6th, at the Music City Labor Day Invitational in Nashville, Tennessee the Mockingbird U10 Girls white team won the championship! It was a great weekend for all the girls and everyone worked together to earn the trophy! Good job girls!
